This week, Cards For Cubs welcomed the UTA SAAC (Student-Athletic Advisory Committee) to our office to help sort the wonderful donation of cards we have we our office. We had a sorting station where the students helped us sort by either Birthday or Encouragement cards and put them in their respective areas.
The SAAC students ranged from UTA volleyball, track, or softball student athletes, so coming up with a card sorting competition helped spark their motivation. It was a very productive and fun time for everyone who participated.
As a result, we got over 5000 cards sorted and 2500 cards packed and ready to ship out! Here are a few pictures from this group volunteer event.
Some people volunteer because they need the volunteer hours; some volunteer because they simply want to be a part of something bigger than themselves. Do you volunteer? What cause do you want to be a part of?
We want to give a shoutout to SAAC for coming to volunteer with us as well as the individuals who have stopped by to volunteer in the recent few weeks. Thank you all for making our mission possible.
If you or anyone you know are interested in volunteering with Cards For Cubs, you can find out more information on our Volunteer Page! We welcome individuals to walk in for an hour or two as well as group volunteer events where organizations can come as a team and do something meaningful.
